From my home in Toronto, Barrie ON is only 100 km north of the city, easily reached in a 2015 Nissan Leaf, even in the wintertime. Several ski-resorts are found nearby for all ability levels. Ski trip anyone?

Leg 1, 100 km Toronto to Barrie. I like to take the 404 Hwy just until I get out of the city, after, the parallel hwy 4 (Yonge St.) lets me drive a little slower, getting more out of my 2015 Nissan Leaf. We stopped in Aurora at the Tim’s nearby the Aurora Town Hall where we can charge while we charge.
After stopping at the Best Western to check in, and top up the car for an hour or so, time for some night skiing at the nearby Snow valley ski resort. Its only 12 km away, so no need to charge for too long. Although in our case, the kids really wanted to swim at the Best Western Pool, so the car was close to full when we headed out for some night skiing.
Leg 2, 80 km roundtrip Barrie to Mnt. St. Louis Moonstone. We had a lot of fun skiing at Mnt. St. Louis. Not only is the skiing excellent, but the cuisine at the lodge offers several dishes that have you feeling like you are somewhere in the Alps.

Leg 3, 100 km, Barrie to Toronto. After a good dinner in Barrie (charging at the downtown Collier st. Parking garage (there are many L2 chargers located on the upper floors of the parking garage), we had plenty of range to make it back to home after a fun weekend of skiing.
