Situated a little north of Barrie, horseshoe resort is easily reached from Toronto, even in an older EV. Its quite a treat located only 120 km or so North of Toronto. There is ample charging along the way, I did this trip in my 2015 Nissan Leaf, so I stopped for coffee in Aurora, and a nice dinner at a craft brewery in Barrie. Horseshoe offers stay and ski packages, which make hitting the slopes super convenient. Should one tire of skiing, Horseshoe also has an excellent cross-country/snow shoeing park with lots of trails wandering through the nearby Copeland forest.
While Horseshoe has some wall plugs that have been used for charging, in late 2022, they installed a series of Flo chargers which allow for much faster and easier charging. We were not sure when we went, if the wall chargers would work, so we decided to load up on enough electrons in Barrie to make it there and back. Which was no problem, as we were eying dinner there anyways, which gave our 2015 Leaf plenty of time to charge up.

Once there, we had a lot of fun skiing and snowshoeing. We had ample charge to make it back to Barrie, where we figured we would enjoy a late lunch before making the trip back to Toronto. We certainly enjoyed our time there. In the summer there is a decent golf course there, and the Hotel did have a lovely pool with a good hot-tub. A must for a ski trip I find as it helps my body through all that skiing.
