Port Perry

About 80 km North-East of Toronto, you will find Lake Scugog, and on its shores Port Perry. Its a cute town well worth a visit, offering ample food for both the car and driver. I enjoyed some wonderful cup-cakes as I strolled through the town, learned some of the local history (some of it to do with Amazon Prime action series), overall a wonderful visit.

Port Perry sits on an artificial lake (Lake Scugog) which was created when the Lindsay dam was built back in 1827. This relatively small dam, created a fairly large (and shallow) Lake Scugog, which is only a few meters deep at its deepest. This lake warms up quite quickly in the summer, making it a favorite with cottagers (the proximity to Toronto might also be a big plus).

Downtown Margrave, was actually recreated in Port Perry, avid watchers of the Amazon Prime TV series, might feel familiar strolling around Queen street by the Piano bar cafe. I certainly had a lovely time wandering around. Charging is available at two Chargepoint locations in town (one by Lake Scugog township office, and the other by the Arena). There is also a Flo station by Canadian Tire in Pickering.
