Along the Northern Shore of Lake Erie sits port Burwell. Its a dog friendly provincial park and one of the few where you can take your dog to the beach and swim with Fido if that is your leisure. Also, its home to the Ojibwa, a cold war era Submarine that saw service in the Canadian Navy. All this a short drive from Toronto, and there is plenty of charging along the way.
While my 2018 Nissan Leaf can make it to Port Burwell on a single charge, the kids got hungry around Bradford. There is a three cabinet Ivy station near a AW Burger, which we went to, but if that does not work, there is a 5 cabinet Flo station near a Canadian Tire also in Bradford. On the way back, we took the 401. No matter there is charging along the 401 at the On-Route stations, I stopped at the one near Cambridge ON, with 4 cabinets, there was no wait as is was us and one other EV charging.

We had a lot of fun camping. As we had an electric site, we just plugged in and the car was full in the morning. The Submarine was interesting as well, a very unique museum where you can see submariner life in action. Its one of only two former Canadian Navy submarines you can tour, the other one can be found near Rimouski Quebec, along the Gaspe peninsula. Another road trip perhaps?
