A number of nature conservation areas dot the region around Toronto. One such is the Bill Fish Forest Stewardship Center, which is a part of York region trail system. A lovely way to a pass an afternoon is to go for a stroll along the Hollidge tract which sits adjacent to the Bill Fisch Forest Stewardship Center. With a Tim hortons around the corner, what is not to like.
It is only 60 km North of Toronto, so with my 2018 Nissan Leaf, no charging is required, even in the winter when my foot gets heavy. The main parking lot however does have a pair of Chargepoint stations, each with two J1772 plugs. Thus even in my 2015 Nissan Leaf we often made the trip, as you will easily spend an hour hiking around exploring the Forest, which usually gets you about 40 km of additional range.

Along the way, there was a big field of Triliums in full bloom, quite a sight, along with a small creek that ran through the back half of the forest. It took us about 20 minutes to hike over there, with a dog and two kids we were hardly speed demons.

We spent about an hour hiking around and exploring the area. This was during covid times, so the center itself was not open, which for us is an excuse to come back and visit again. It is so close and such a magical spot. We did stop for some refreshments at the Tim Hortons down the road in Ballantrae and to use the washrooms as the Bill Frish center it self was closed.
