A short drive along the 401 about 150 km east of Toronto sits Presqu’ile Provincial Park. If the waves are up, surfing can be a lot of fun along the sandy beach. Nearby the big apple offers fuel for both your EV and your belly, along with numerous hiking oportunities. Whats not to like.
I did not need to charge at all, as its only a 155 km drive, and I was in my 2018 Nissan Leaf. If needed, there are lots of charging stations along the way. Coburg has a pair of Petro Canada charging stations, as well as the big apple which at the time of this writing has a Tesla destination charger, which with my Tesla-J1772 adapter I can use. In any case, when we got to the Big Apple, the kids were hungry, so we stopped for some crew-fuel.

It was a little cool, as I did this trip relatively early in the season, so we put the tarp on the tent to help stay warm, and also ward off the rain that did appear later in the night. With the roofbox on the Leaf, there was plenty of storage for all our camping gear. The beach around Presquile is fantastic, and well worth a visit. The wind picked up and we enjoyed playing in the waves. There is also a “horse-tree” you can “ride” for an interesting selfie.

After a wonderful weekend, and as we had an electric campsite, free charging (with your own TT-30 RV to J1772 adapter setup), it was time to head back to the city, with another stop at the Big Apple for some more nourishment.
